Goseva Parivar initiated the Tree Plantation Program for the year 2020 - 2021 during our Virtual meet on 05th June, 2020, ie World Environment Day.
Our mission is to support 2500 small farmers in West Bengal to plant and grow 200,000 organic fruit trees with the objective of prosperity of farmers, grazing field for gomata and environment protection.
The Corona pandemic delayed our plans a little, however, through regular on-line monitoring and follow-ups, we were able to garner willingness of farmers and organize donations to plant 12,000 trees in 150 farms in the 1st phase. In spite of various hurdles, karyakartas arranged for the seeds and saplings on 22nd July’20 for the plantation program to be held on 26th July at Keshiary Block, West Midnapore. Each farmer was provided with 30 Fruit Trees and 50 Seeds. These included mango, guava, jackfruit, beri, lemon, bel, chiku, papaya, banana, pomegranate, bay leaf, amla, ritha and moringa. Cost of sponsoring each farmer is ₹ 1500/-.
We have received donations for 315 farmers till date and look forward to donations for the remaining 2185 farmers during the year. We appeal to one and all to come forward in support of small farmers’ prosperity, service to Go Mata and environment protection, which can all be achieved through this plantation drive.
